The ENTJPN 61 was created as part of THE ARCHIVE SERIES, Enterprise Japan’s project dedicated to the contemporary reinterpretation of archival footwear. A research-driven exploration in which proportions, materials and visual codes are reimagined through the brand’s distinctive DNA.
Inspired by 1960s running shoes, the silhouette is slim and lightweight, with understated proportions that evoke the aesthetic of classic sportswear. Its clean, functional design expresses an authentic attitude, conceived to transcend time and accompany everyday movement.
The upper combines smooth leather and suede in a refined brown palette, enhancing the silhouette’s clean lines and contemporary character. Printed in a contrasting colour on the side, the EJ Rocket logo is pared back to become an essential graphic symbol, almost resembling a Japanese kanji: an element that brings movement, identity and culture together in a single form.
The two sets of laces, in brown and yellow, add a distinctive detail and allow the sneaker’s look to be personalised, while the tongue’s heritage label recalls the visual language of 1960s collegiate competitions.
The slim sole features an intentionally distressed effect, introducing the passage of time as a design element—a detail that gives the sneaker authenticity and character.
